Dhaswant, the 23-year-old techie who raped and murdered Hasini, has been given death sentence by the Chengalpet Mahila Court. He was taken to the court at around 11:00 am where he was made to wait till 3:00 pm as the judge, P Velmurugan, consulted both lawyers. At 3:00 pm, the judge declared Dhaswant guilty and left the Courtroom. Dhaswant reportedly remained stone-faced and kept staring at the judge’s chair. He then asked for a piece of paper which was first denied and later given to him by police. He wrote down something on the paper and tried to give it to the judge when he arrived. However, the judge ignored him and started reading the sentence. After the judge pronounced the sentence, Dhaswant reportedly shouted at the reporters saying that he has been cornered.
