Chennai Apartment Horror: Cops conduct identification parade

Following an identification parade conducted at Puzhal prison on Wednesday, where the 11-year-old child sexual abuse survivor identified all 17 victims thrice including with change of clothes and line-up, a Mahila Court has given Chennai cops five days to question the perpetrators booked under the POCSO act.

The horrific abuse came to light on July 17, when the child survivor narrated to her elder sister, the ordeal of being sedated and sexually assaulted by 23 men working in a gated community as lift operators, handymen, etc, post which 17 were remanded in judicial custody while efforts are on to nab the absconding.

The incident had caused much furore in the city with lawyers beating up the accused and refusing to fight for them in the court.
