IPL 2018 Final: CSK scripts the best comeback ever

Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final of the Indian Premier League 2018 on Sunday.



Sent in to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad started their innings slowly, scoring 42 runs on the power-play with the loss of one wicket. SRH captain Kane Williamson and opener Shikar Dhawan - 26 (25) stitched an important partnership of 51 runs. Karn Sharma, who was brought in to the team for the final picked up the important wicket of Williamson - 47 (36) in the 13th over. Yusuf Pathan - 45*(25) and Shakib Al Haasan - 23 (15) also scored some valuable runs through the middle overs. Carlos Brathwait's cameo of 21 runs from 11 balls powered SRH to a total of 178/6 from their 20 overs. CSK bowlers Karn Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, and Lungi Ngidi picked one wicket each.



Chasing the target, CSK got off to a conscious start scoring just 35 runs with the loss of one wicket. Shane Watson and Suresh Raina - 32 (24) pilled on a 117 run partnership for the second wicket which almost sealed the match for CSK. Shane Watson - 117*(57) scored his second century of the season to take CSK home with nine balls to spare.



By winning the 2018 season CSK has bagged the trophy for the third time which is the joint highest in the IPL.
