Amidst privacy concerns, UIDAI comes up with new initiative

The UIDAI on Wednesday came up with an initiative aimed at bringing down the instances of Aadhaar leak and misuse of Aadhaar numbers. Instead of Aadhaar number, the initiative allows people to share a randomly-generated 16-digit temporary number to authenticate their identity. Reports suggest that the UIDAI will release the necessary software by March 1.
