Tirupati Devasthanam asks RBI to exchange Rs 25 crore demonetised currency

According to reports, the temple authorities of Lord Venkateswara hill shrine at Tirumala in Andhra have revealed that they have Rs 25 crore in the old denominations. After the Narendra Modi government announced their plan on demonetisation, lakhs of devotees reportedly offered their old currencies to the temple. The TTD has requested RBI to exchange the currencies so as to honour the devotees’ sentiments.
