MP: Student killed for not withdrawing sexual abuse complaint

In an incident that speaks volumes of the poor way in which women are treated in the country, a 23-year-old student breathed her last in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday after she was dragged by her hair while on way to college and her head smashed with a stone by a 38-year-old man going by the name Anil Mishra who was allegedly putting pressure on her to withdraw the sexual harassment complaint against him, reports Hindustan Times.

A few people rushed to help, overpowered Mishra and took the woman, who was seriously injured and bleeding profusely, to a hospital, but she died on the way.
