COUPLE BEATEN UP FOR HUGGING IN PUBLIC

A young couple was beaten up by the public for allegedly being too close on a metro in Kolkata. Reportedly, the couple hugged in public, following which questions like, "Why don't you go to a pub in Park Street?" and "Why don't you get a room?" were asked by the elderly co-passengers. According to an eyewitness, they were humiliated and thrashed after they got down from the train.

Many locals on Tuesday protested outside the metro station and demanded that those who hit the couple should be arrested.
