Following a protest by first-year students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Tadepalligudam in Andhra Pradesh against seniors who ragged them, the management suspended five students on Saturday. Reports say, senior students ragged a first-year student by attacking him, after which a security guard came to the rescue of the victim. A committee will reportedly be set up to probe the incident and the management has sought the police to book cases against the students involved in ragging.
