The
success of Imsai Arasan has changed the
total scenario in film circles. This film
was released at a time when romance and
action were ruling the roost in theatres.
Comedy had always enjoyed a separate track
sometimes merging with the film and sometimes
not.
But
a full length comedy was something
unheard in the recent times. Hence
the film under Shankar’s banner
had not evoked the desired response
initially.
But subsequently the film took off
on a major note, recording a grand
success and attracted families and
children once again to theatres. Tomorrow
the film is completing one hundred
days and a special function to mark
this event is scheduled to be held.
Superstar Rajnikanth would be presiding
over the function where Vadivelu and
Imsai Arasan’s crew will be
receiving shields from him.
Riding
on the success wave, Vadivelu is speculating
if Imsai Arasan would also create a history
of its kind where it would have a dream
run for a year. But when the question
of practical feasibility was raised, Vadivelu
was even ready to bear the financial brunt
for the same. His primary intention is
to conceive a record for himself thereby
standing unique among all his comedy brethren.
All modalities are being worked out and
let us wait and watch if this feat can
be accomplished.
