The
veteran actor cum former Member of Parliament
Ramarajan is passing through a rough patch
in his life. There was a time in Kollywood
when he was the reigning king next only
to the genres of Rajni and Kamal. His
films were sold like hot cakes even before
the commencement of the shooting in all
the three trade centres. The songs of
his films retain their magic even now.
There was stiff competition among Gauthamis
and Rekhas to feature in his film.
He
is a simple man who respected people
even though they did not enjoy a social
stature and heeded to their requests
by acting in their films But like
they say, all good things come to
an end, Ramarajan’s golden period
also started fading slowly. There
was turmoil in his personal life also.
His film Dharman was shelved with
just one schedule due to financial
constraints
Today he is reduced to a pitiable
state where people who have been benefited
from him do not even acknowledge him.
Gratitude seems to be a rare commodity
in the current times.
When
Sneha was approached by him to act in
his film, she has allegedly refused. Of
course it is an individual choice to act
in a film or not. But actress Roja and
Kushboo are exceptions when they were
willing to act with him even during his
lean times. The barren bitter truth is
that people who were his beneficiaries
have turned their back to him. When he
was approached with television offers
with a sum of Rs one crore, he is said
to have refused the same, saying that
he would never figure in Television serials
even if it is highly lucrative.
