Aishwarya
Rai one of the most beautiful women India
has produced is currently busy with Umrao
Jaan, which is a remake of the famous
film with the same title. This remake
has been directed by J P Dutta. The earlier
one had bagged the National Award for
best actress for Rekha few years back.
Aishwarya is doing the role of Umrao Jaan
in the current flick.
While
talking about the role of Umrao Jaan,
the courtesan in the film, Aishwarya’s
heart goes all out for sex workers.
According to her, treatment meted
out to women has not changed over
the period of time. Contemporary women
are challenged with a wide variety
of issues on a daily basis. Though
she is one of the fortunate one with
whom God has always been good she
empathies with the unfortunate sex
workers. Umrao Jaan has given her
tremendous insight into the feelings
of such women. This story may be set
in the last century but time has not
erased the miseries of women who continue
to be at the receiving end always.
