The
CM felicitation ceremony had many highlights
to its credit. But the one that outdid
every other performance is the one dance
sequence by Lawrence and his troop who
are youngsters and barely in their twenties.
So
what is special about their performance?
The performance was by seven physically
challenged individuals under the guidance
of Lawrence. The Nehru stadium went
uproar with applauses after the program
and the Chief Minister congratulated
the team on their program.
Lawrence, yesterday 03/10/06, called
on the Chief Minister with the seven
members of the group – Zahir,
Masthan, Deva, Panikumar, Nanaji,
Sridhar, Magesh. They met up with
the Chief Minister and presented him
with a yellow shawl and a Thiruvalluvar
statuette.
After
the meeting, Lawrence addressed the press
and stated that he has started a trust
to assist the physically challenged in
bringing out their talents. These youngsters
belong to his trust, which is based in
Hyderabad. Remarkably, he even assists
the members in finding a job. He further
stated that the Chief Minister expressed
his appreciation for the trust. I am planning
to start out the trust in Chennai very
soon, Lawrence added.
