Beauty queen and actress Aishwarya Rai is not
new to mishaps – in personal life or movie
sets. She broke a leg a couple of years ago while
shooting for a film and her now ex-beau Vivek
Oberoi was the savior then. Many sympathized with
her while grudging Vivek the opportunity to hover
around her. After many sweet and sour episodes
in their romance, international recognition with
Bride and Prejudice and a seat in the Cannes Film
jury besides burgeoning endorsements for global
cosmetic and jewelry brands, Ash is surely in
a rarefied club. Last year it seemed as if she
would bid goodbye to Bollywood. |
Yet,
here she is shooting for Umrao Jaan, the tale
of a lovelorn courtesan of the Awadh empire. In
the second screen version (the first one made
by Muzaffar Ali had the ravishing Rekha and some
unforgettable music), she plays Umrao Jaan and
J.P. Dutta is the director.
While shooting in Jodhpur, she was stung by a
honey bee yesterday. No one in the crew realized
what happened when Ash gave a pained scream. It
took them a few seconds to find out what happened.
Shooting has been cancelled and Ash could not
be approached for comment.
