Vadivelu is a hot shot comedian after his creditable
performance in Chandramukhi. He commands rates
on per hour basis and his call sheets are choc
a bloc with projects. He is known to be a conscientious
artiste who honors his commitments with thorough
professionalism. What however happens sometimes
is a common malaise in Kollywood. Small producers
and inexperienced directors face finance or operational
problems and do not utilize his dates properly.
The guy packs in another project after the scheduled
dates are over. When the producer seeks some extra
time he is not able to oblige. This is what happened
with Kusti. Prabu, Karthik, Vadivelu and many
others are in the cast. The film is directed by
Raj Kapoor and Murugan is the producer. |
Shooting
for the film has been going on in fits and starts.
After exhausting his dates, Vadivelu started work
on Imsai Arasan. Meanwhile, the director wanted
Vadivelu to appear with the lead actors in the
climax of Kusti. The producer approached Vadivelu
and he promised to accommodate him. However, as
Imsai Arasan was going on in full swing, he could
not arrive on the sets of Kusti as promised. While
Prabu and Karthik waited, Murugan barged into
the sets of Imsai Arasan and this led to a fracas.
Murugan reportedly filed a complaint with the
Nadigar Sangam and Producers’ council seeking
a ban against Vadivelu. Sarathkumar, the secretary
of the Sangam, has promised to intervene and iron
out the issues. We just hope the problem is sorted
out amicably. |
