Vijayakanth stone hurled at Madurai meeting
April 17, 2006

Vijayakanth

Punch dialogues may be a hit in films, but not so in real life, which Captain learned the hard way. We had already brought you updates on Vijaykanth's political canvassing style. It is said he encourages 'an open forum', and people are free to ask him questions about his future plans and 'commitments'. According to latest reports, while addressing a political gathering near Ko Pudhur Iyyapan Koil in Madurai, Vijaykanth was full of tall promises. A curious 'fan' stood up and wanted to know if Captain will keep his word or will he feign selective amnesia like the other parties after he wins the elections. Even as he was trying to convince the person who posed the question, a mischief monger, supposed to be from a different polical camp, hurled a stone in Vijaykanth's direction.

The actor who was caught off guard regained his composure, and 'magnanimously' let go off the culprit. Cinema dialogues seem to fall flat in politics. May be Captain should try a different tactic to win votes.
