Heroes enjoying fans adulation through posters
and festoons is usual in Tamil cinema. Fans
show their affection by bringing out posters
on any occasion, especially new film releases,
with their idol splashed prominently. Ajith
has a large fan following and therefore when
his Tirupathi was released past week, there
was widespread celebration as he is on a successful
comeback trail. What has however caught the
eye of many is that apart from the hero, director
Perarasu also had posters being put up by the
so-called Commercial King Perarasu Fans Association.
Senior directors are miffed that despite so
many years of experience and so many hits, they
never turned the spotlight on themselves.
