If
reports are to be believed, Amitabh Bachchan
and family will not participate at the International
Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony,
which are scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka
in July. When news flowed in that the IIFA’s
venue this year would be Sri Lanka, the Tamil
film industry remained silent to the invitations
extended to them.
Several Tamil outfits, however, were vocal in
their protests and even picketed Amitabh Bachchan’s
residence in Mumbai. Following this, the star
had said he would hold discussions with the
IIFA organizers and arrive at a proper solution.
The buzz now in Kollywood is that Rajinikanth
and Kamal Haasan has persuaded Amitabh not to
participate in this event and earn the wrath
of the Tamils worldwide. However, there is no
official confirmation on this yet. |
