The pilots at the Air India have reportedly said that the proposal to privatise the national carrier is a welcome move but salary arrears should be settled first as promised earlier. Indian Pilots’ Guild reportedly stated, “This is a problem created by the management, and they have to first resolve the issue.” Arrears have been accumulating since Air India resorted to salary cuts in 2012 amid financial difficulties.
