AIADMK’s internal fight delays civic polls in TN: Opposition

The opposition parties have blamed the internal fight of AIADMK for the delay in conducting local body elections in Tamil Nadu. DMK working president M K Stalin reportedly said, “AIADMK is scared of polls as it is now split into two and three groups. It is does not have the popular two-leaves symbol as well.” Accusing the state of going against the repeated directions of the court on holding the civic polls, TNCC president S Thirunavukkarasu reportedly said, “The delay is because the ruling party is divided after Jayalalithaa's death. How long can they work on merger?” Further, CPM state secretary G Ramakrishnan said the “AIADMK is in a state of confusion” and urged the court to step in by fixing a date, say reports.
