Rekha gets the government rename her award
May 27, 2009

Just a few days ago the Maharashtra state government had announced that Bollywood actress Rekha has been selected for the Raj Kapoor Jeevan Gaurav award (Lifetime Achievement). However, the actress refused the award stating that she was still into acting and hence she cannot accept the Lifetime Achievement award. This was conveyed to Harshwardhan Patil, the Maharashtra cultural affairs minister.

With Rekha’s contention, the ministry has decided to rename the award as Raj Kapoor Pratiba Gaurav. Rekha will get this renamed award on May 30th at the 46th Maharashtra state film award distribution ceremony.
