Yuvan Shankar Raja makes an exception for Karthi

Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani opened this past weekend to good reviews and the film has registered a very good opening all across the state. But it must be noted that the film would have to shell out 30% entertainment tax.

 

In an interaction on a leading TV channel, Venkat Prabhu and Karthi were glad to reply to fans who were frank and profuse in sharing their appreciation of the film. The 'Mississippi' number is a unanimous highlight as all sections of the audience seem to love this steamy sequence featuring Mandy Thakar along with Karthi and Premgi.

 

Karthi made his debut as a singer in this number and Venkat Prabhu said that composer Yuvan decided to not use any voice vocalizer on top of Karthi's performance as he wished to retain that raw effect which Karthi brought out. Generally, new singers struggle to maintain pitch and composers are required to make corrections through the vocalizer but Yuvan made an exception for Karthi.

 

Premgi has also sung this number with Karthi and Yuvan felt happy with the output as their voices perfectly resembled two buddies having fun after a night of boozing.

 

Biriyani is expected to continue its good run as Christmas and New Year holidays are around, and the celebratory mood among the people is bound to ensure Housefull boards.
