From Vijay to Suriya to Karthi

Venkat Prabhu appears to be a busy man these days with the release of Biriyani around the corner. The movie that has been given a U/A certificate raised the curiosity among the people as to why the film has been granted a U/A certificate. 

Venkat Prabhu clarified the same in a recent interview mentioning that the movie contained drinking scenes which was the reason for the U/A. 

Speaking about how he chose Karthi as his lead, the director stated that the script was first narrated to Vijay who gave him a positive nod. But unfortunately his busy schedule forced him to opt out of it after which the script went to Suriya who was apparently busy too. Ultimately Studio Green suggested Karthi and Venkat Prabhu is happy with the actor's commitment.
