According to a report on Times of India, the farmers of Boduvarpatti village in Dindigul district were given compensation from Rs 5 to Rs 10 by the state government. The cheques were issued by the Dindigul Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. Farmers are eligible to receive up to Rs 26,000 per acre of paddy based on yield loss, Rs 12,000 for pulses, and up to Rs 20,000 for millets as compensation under crop insurance. However, the state government has reportedly admitted to the ‘faux’ and reportedly ordered the insurance companies to rectify the same.
