COURT REJECTS NIRMALA DEVI'S BAIL PETITION

The Srivilliputhur District Court rejected the bail petition of Professor Nirmala Devi on Friday. Nirmala Devi, a professor at Devanga Arts College was arrested for asking sexual favours from female students. The case came to light after an audio clip of her talking to the students went viral on social media. The case is currently being handled by the CB-CID.

Along with Nirmala Devi, Professor Murugan and research student Karuppusamy were arrested. Reportedly, the bail petition of Murugan and Karuppusamy will be reviewed by the Court on May 18. All the three of them are currently held at the Madurai Central Jail.
