TAMIL NADU: MENTALLY-CHALLENGED PERSON KILLED BY PUBLIC AND HANGED FROM BRIDGE

According to reports, a  mentally-challenged person was beaten to death by people in Pazhaverkadu of Thiruvallur district and his body was hanged from an overbridge. Reports suggest that people attacked the man as they suspected him to be a child-abductor. The man, about 30 years, suffered serious injuries and died. People tied his body to a rope and hanged it from an overbridge.

Thirupalaivanam police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. They also reportedly asked the people not to attack anyone based on suspicion. Earlier, an elderly woman was beaten to death by people as they suspected her to be abducting children. The incident took place near Thiruvannamalai when the family of the woman went to a temple.
