Roads in rural areas like Pammal, Madipakkam, Adambakkam Manapakkam and Puzhuthivakkam that were laid just six months back were all damaged in the recent rains that lashed the city. Reportedly, Rs 323.41 crore was spent under the Mega City scheme and roads were laid in as many as 149 bus routes of 127.41 km. Another Rs 162 crore was spent on roads laid in 92 bus routes under the Tamil Nadu Urban Road Infrastructure project, according to TNIE reports.
