A 21-year-old woman allegedly set her 45-year-old mother on fire in Madurai, as her mother opposed her love affair, TOI reports say. The mother has been hospitalised with severe burn injuries and a police complaint has reportedly been registered against the daughter after which she has been remanded in judicial custody. Police reportedly said that there was stiff resistance from the mother's side against the relationship and frustrated by this, the daughter set her mother ablaze while she was asleep.
