Rajinikanth tells Tamil proverb wrong at event, corrects self funnily

Politics has not been too kind for the Superstar of Kollywood, Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth drew the attention of social media yet again after his slip of the tongue on Wednesday at an event hosted by the Royal College of Physicians.

Addressing the crowd, Rajinikanth talked in honour of AC Shanmugam, the Chancellor of Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute. Rajinikanth attempted to describe Shanmugam's hard work through a proverb but ended up getting it wrong.

Instead of saying, "Erumbu pol uzhaithu irumbu pol iruka vendum" (Working like an ant to stay strong like iron), Rajinikanth ended up saying, "Irumbu pol uzhaithu erumbu pol iruka vendum" (Working like iron to stay like an ant).

The actor-politician immediately corrected himself and went on to say, "Now they will start trolling me with this."
