A location for the second airport in Chennai is likely to be finalised by the Government by December 31st, TOI reports say. Reportedly, two alternative sites, one near Madrantakam in Kanchipuram and a site near Gummidipoondi were being considered according to some sources. However, Airport Authority of India (AAI) chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra reportedly said that the state government has not revealed the location it is considering but said it was looking at alternative spots.
