According to reports, the Madras High Court on Thursday rapped the police department for taking no action against banners erected in violation of rules. The court also reportedly questioned the police what they were doing without removing the illegal banners. All the banners, erected in violation of rules, should be removed immediately, the court reportedly said, adding that the State government, the Chennai Corporation and the police department must submit a report on March 5.
