According to reports, the final rituals of cremating the mortal remains of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi in Kanchi Sankara Mutt happened this morning in the presence of some of his relatives and Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit. His body was cremated in a pit which had salt and other Ayurvedic products to keep his body from decomposing. The final rituals 'Brindhavana Pravesam,' began with an 'abishekam'. Milk, honey and curd were among the ingredients used in the ‘Holy bath’.
