Observing November 8, the day Prime Minister Modi announced the scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, as Black Day, DMK working president on Wednesday ripped into the BJP-led central government. “We got independence at midnight, now we have lost it at midnight," Stalin said, referring to PM Modi’s demonetisation announcement in the midnight of November 8, 2016. The note ban decision has crushed small and micro industries, Stalin said, adding that even BJP leaders oppose the move.
