Chennai to get 650 million litres of drinking water from Veeranam

Minister of Municipal Administration and Rural Development S P Velumani reportedly said that Chennai will get 650 million litres of drinking water from Veeranam lake every day from November 8. He also said that the lakes in Poondi, Veeranam, Puzhal, Sembarambakkam and Sholavaram have only filled up to 35% of its full capacity and people don't have worry about the flood.
