Deadline extended for applying online for B.E courses.

Anna University has reportedly extended the deadline for applying online for B.E courses by three days. The move has been taken in the wake of the suspension of internet services in Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari. Earlier, the deadline was fixed at May 30, which now has been extended to June 2.

The Tamil Nadu government informed the Madras High Court about the extension of deadline during the hearing on police firing in Thoothukudi. Internet services in the three districts have been suspended following the unrest over the police firing on anti-Sterlite protesters in Thoothukudi which left at least 13 people dead and dozens injured.

According to reports, 1.12 lakh students have applied for BE courses so far. Meanwhile, reports suggest that a large number of students, who had applied for different entrance examinations, are confused as they are struggling to get their hall tickets downloaded.
