CHIEF MINISTER THROWS OPEN TAMIL NADU'S LONGEST 2-TIER FLYOVER!

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami started his four- day visit and arrived to Wednesday on Wednesday. He will be inaugurating two flyover- a flyover built between Shevapet and Leigh Bazaar for Rs 46.35 crore.

Another flyover, the ambitious project worth Rs 441 crore, the two- tier flyover will also be inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister today. The flyover has been built between Kuranguchavadi and Four Roads. 

Reportedly, Salem is the first Tier 2 City in India to get one of the biggest flyovers in the country as well as state. The Bridge has been named as MGR Mempallam.

“Initially proposed during the tenure of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the flyover was constructed to decongest traffic at important locations, including Kuranguchavadi, New Bus Stand, Four Roads, Alagapuram Main Road, Saradha College Road, and Swarnapuri. In February 2016, she laid the foundation stone. On June 7, 2019, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated the first level of this flyover,” The New Indian Express cited in its report.

He inaugurated the Flyover and opened it for public use on 11th June. 18 other members were present along with the Chief Minister for the inaugural function.
