TAMIL NADU CM NOMINATES 5 MINISTERS TO CONTAIN COVID-19 SPREAD IN CHENNAI

Tamil Nadu government on Friday, 5 June, nominated five ministers to oversee the coordination and relief works being done by the Greater Chennai Corporation and Field Support Teams.

Five-Minister Team Formed to Contain COVID-19 Spread in Chennai

D Jayakumar, Minister for Fisheries and P&A.R. will look after zones 3, 4 and 5 of Chennai corporation while K P Anbalagan, Minister for Higher Education has been nominated for zones 13, 14, and 15.

Similarly, R Kamaraj, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies will oversee zones 8, 9 and 10 and R. B. Udhayakumar, Minister for Revenue & Disaster Management and Information Technology will oversee zones 1, 2, 6.

M.R. Vijayabhaskar, Minister for Transport has been nominated for zones 7, 11 and 12.

With 18,693 confirmed COVID-19 cases, Chennai continues to be an epicenter in Tamil Nadu. Chengalpattu has the second maximum number of confirmed cases.
