According to reports, for the occasion of Diwali over 1 lakh people travelled from Chennai to other places on Monday. While certain parts of Chennai also experienced rain, this reportedly caused more traffic than usual and led to congestion in areas including Anna Salai, Koyambedu and Guindy. Since more people are expected to travel from Chennai to other parts on Tuesday, traffic is speculated to be more severe.
