A 17-year-old first-year B.Tech student drowned at Marina beach in Chennai on Monday when he was playing with his friends, and his body was later washed ashore. The student, Saravana Kumar from Naidupet in Andhra Pradesh, was pulled into the water as his friends made loud cries. Police sent his body to Kasturba Gandhi hospital for post-mortem.
