Cartoonist Bala released on bail

Tirunelveli district court has reportedly granted bail to cartoonist G Bala who was arrested on Sunday for mocking Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Tirunelveli district collector and police commissioner in his cartoon. He drew the cartoon in response to the self-immolation of a couple and their two children in front of the district collectorate following harassment by a money lender.
