Ahead of Diwali on October 18, 4,119 buses including 1,844 special buses are plying from Chennai to other districts, say reports. Since a large number of people would visit their hometowns across Tamil Nadu, the State government has reportedly announced that 11,645 buses will be operated from Chennai. Transport officials stated that Rs 7.07 crore has been collected through ticket bookings for Diwali special buses, reports added.
