The only surviving lake in Chennai’s southern suburb, the Adambakkam lake will reportedly be restored by the civic authorities. Alandur MLA M Anbarasan reportedly promised to allocate Rs 1.5 crore for the restoration of the lake, after he inspected the lake with a team. The MLA allegedly said that the huts that were expelled have returned and that the lake has lost around 10 hectares of its total size, only because of encroachments.
