IPL 2018 Match 3 Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Match 3 of this year's IPL is all set to happen at the famous Eden Gardens stadium at Kolkata today, April 8, between Kolkata Knight Riders, captained by Dinesh Karthik, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Virat Kohli.

Here is everything you need to know about today's match!

Head to head: Out of the 20 times that the two teams have clashed, KKR has emerged winner 11 times, whereas RCB won 9 times.

Head to head at Kolkata: KKR has hosted RCB 8 times, out of which they have beat their guests 5 times. RCB has won their hosts 3 times.

Key Players for KKR: Dinesh Karthik, Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Kuldeep Yadav

Key Players for RCB: Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, Brendon McCullum

Our prediction:

Since the teams are pretty much equally balanced on paper, it could be anybody's game. But if we had to choose, it would be RCB.

In the batting department, KKR has a trump card in the form of Sunil Narine, whose hit or miss strategy has worked out now and then. Otherwise, Chris and Dinesh are the pillars on which their total would rely on. RCB has a bit more depth in their batting department in the form of Kohli and de Villiers.

In the bowling department, KKR would rely on Sunil and Kuldeep for the wickets. RCB too, would look to their spinners - Chahal and Washington Sundar to deal the damage. However, Eden Gardens generally helps pacers more, so this would be an interesting match to watch!
