According to reports, 58-year-old Kalamandalam Geethanandan, one of the finest exponents of the classical dance form, Ottanthullal, collapsed while performing at a temple in Irinjalakuda in Kerala's Thrissur district. The retired head of the Thullal Department at Kalamandalam Deemed University of Art and Culture was rushed to a hospital, but it was too late. According to reports, Kalamandalam Geethanandan, who has acted in over 30 Malayalam films, received several awards including the Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award in 2000.
