Nipah scare forces Bengaluru to move out pigs, keep eye on bats.

Though epicentre of the deadly Nipah virus that has gripped the nation lately is Kerala, other states are leaving no stones unturned to prevent the outbreak of the infection, which doesn’t have any vaccination as yet.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, Bengaluru civic authorities are planning to move pigs out of the city as a precautionary measure and have also vowed to keep an eye on bats, which can be a primary carrier of the infection.

So far about 17 people have lost their lives to Nipah in Kerala alone while one person is suspected to have died of the virus in Kolkata though lab reports are yet to ascertain or confirm the cause of death.
