According to reports, the Maharashtra government is puzzled after over 100 farmers who had applied for loan waiver are linked to the same Aadhaar number. The government’s attempt to waive off their loans has run into trouble due to the concern. The government earlier made it mandatory to register online with Aadhaar number for the loan waiver believing it would avoid duplication and prevent fake accounts from getting the benefits, say reports.
