Veeramani, a 27-year-old man from Salem, has reportedly been arrested by police on charges of chain snatching. During the investigation, police reportedly found that the man stole 7 sovereigns of gold from his aunt’s house in Valasaravakkam by preparing a fake key. His aunt, Kamatchi, reportedly got him out of jail on bail some months ago and made him stay in her house. He also cheated a man of his camera on the pretext of taking it for rent. Police reportedly seized 7 sovereigns of gold, half a kilogram of silver and the camera worth Rs 2 lakh.
