According to reports, a Chennai-based man and his wife were caught on Wednesday at the Mumbai airport when they tried to smuggle four kg gold worth Rs 1 crore. The couple, Balasubramanian and Shivadevi Balachandran, were walking out of the airport when customs officials interrupted. The woman had concealed the gold in her undergarment. During investigation, the man revealed that his modus operandi was to use his two wives bring gold from abroad, reports added.
