The sixth round of Quarterly Employment Survey released by the Labour Bureau has reportedly revealed that 87,000 jobs were lost in the manufacturing sector in April-June 2017, as against 12,000 jobs during the corresponding period in the previous year. Also, the transport sector recorded a drop of 3,000 jobs during the first quarter of this financial year, the report revealed.
