Actor Prabhudeva, whose Mercury has just been released outside of Tamil Nadu, made a post on Twitter about how piracy might lead to a less than optimal experience of the movie. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the movie is a silent thriller which has not yet been released in Tamil Nadu due to the ongoing strike against film releases. The tweet read:

Karthik Subbaraj's Mercury has got a decent hold of shows in its theatres in the Chennai City region. As per the analysis made by Behindwoods Box Office Wing, this Prabhu Deva starrer has approximately collected 2.09 crores, by the end of its second weekend. The film has got an 'above average' verdict, holding 78 shows.
Considering one week of delayed release in Chennai and throughout Tamil Nadu, the film's box office numbers are promising.
