Karthi backs out of the mad July release rush

Jul 11, 2014
Ramanujan, Nalanum Nandhiniyum, Pappali and Sooran are the four straight Tamil releases today. All these films star lesser-known actors and don't feature that much-needed star pull to lure in the audiences in the opening weekend.

The second half of July promises to be packed with all kinds of films releasing together and vying for the audience's limited attention span. The films which are almost certain to hit the screens on July 25 are Vijay Antony's Saleem and Jigarthanda, with Sarabham also in with a shot at releasing on this day. The much-delayed Thirumanam Enum Nikkah would release a day in advance, on July 24.

As earlier reported, Sathuranga Vettai's release has been pre-poned from July 25 to July 18, and Dhanush's much-expected 25th film Velai Illa Pattathari (VIP) is also likely to release on 18th, provided censor formalities are completed soon.

Karthi's Madras which was earlier touted to release on July 25, has now backed out of the July release mayhem and its final release date would be sometime in August. With Suriya's Anjaan set for a roaring opening on August 15, we have to see how little brother Karthi faces up to the challenge posed by the elder brother.
